Citizens Advice Halton has launched a new project – Directions

Directions Project

Directions is a training programme aimed at residents of Halton who are 18+, not working, and not in education or training. The 1 day a week, 4 week training programme will help people to: build their confidence; identify their existing skills; help them learn new skills; and open up new pathways to volunteering, work experience or specific employment opportunities.

Directions participants can move onto the Citizens Advice Volunteer Training, where they can gain advice-related skills, valuable work experience, and feel like they’re giving something back to the community.

Directions is a European Social Fund programme working across the Liverpool City Region to raise aspirations, develop skills and explore pathways to employment and economic opportunity.

Hitesh Patel, CEO of Citizens Advice Halton said “We’re delighted to be part of this city-region programme. We know that the training, support, and confidence-building that people get when they volunteer for us makes a real difference to job-searching. With many volunteers going on to get jobs while volunteering with us, we know that the opportunities we’ll be providing through the Directions programme, and our Volunteer Training Programme can have a really positive impact for people from Halton.”

Directions training programmes will be running throughout the year, with dates of programmes to be published soon.
