Trainee Debt Caseworker/Debt Caseworker

Citizens Advice Halton are seeking to recruit a Debt Caseworker to join their team working from our offices in Halton (Runcorn and Widnes).

To be appointed as a debt caseworker, you should have knowledge and substantive experience of debt casework and advice giving. You should have experience of helping clients manage their debt in a legal advice or financial services sector setting.

To be appointed as a trainee debt caseworker, you should have knowledge of issues affecting members of the public experiencing money problems. You should have experience supporting advice giving in an advice service or customer
facing setting.

You must demonstrate that you will be able to deal with a full range of complex debt cases, including advising clients on the management of priority and nonpriority debts, insolvency remedies and housing issues such as repossession and
eviction, in line with Money and Pensions Service contractual requirements and quality standards.

Location:  Citizens Advice Halton – Widnes and Runcorn (and regular home based
working).

Salary: £19,554 to £26,317 [ + up to 4% pension]  (Starting salary dependent on skills and experience)

Hours:  35 hours per week (Full time)

Leave:  25 days holiday per annum + bank holidays

Closing date: Wednesday 26th August – 12 noon

Money Advice Outreach Caseworker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Money Advice worker to join our new United Utilities Trust Fund supported Mental Wellbeing Money Advice Project.

Providing longer term support to clients, this targeted project will provide money advice and financial capability support to people from Halton who are experiencing mental health issues.

You should have knowledge and substantive experience of debt casework and advice giving. You should be able to demonstrate an ability to deal with a full range of complex money advice issues, including advising clients on the management of priority and non-priority debts, insolvency remedies and housing issues such as repossession and eviction.

You will have an ability to actively engage and build a rapport with harder to reach clients and understand the impact of mental health issues on people’s lives, including the impact on dealing with money issues.

Location:  Citizens Advice Halton – Widnes and Runcorn (the role will include outreach and home visits, when safe to do so, and regular home based working).

Salary: £24,313 to £26,843 [ + up to 4% pension]  (Starting salary dependent on skills and experience)

Hours:  35 hours per week (Full time)
